As a resident of Huntington Beach since 1979 I have seen the city of Huntington Beach evolve drastically over the time I’ve spent here. Educated in the private school system at Saint Bonaventure and later at Mater Dei, I was blessed by my parents to have attended these private educational institutions. Twenty years ago, when it came time for educating my children, I was not impressed with the public school offerings in Huntington Beach at the time, and I have truly seen the problems worsen. I have also seen enough in the news and have heard firsthand from parents and children in my community as to what is being taught and it has motivated and inspired me to seek to make a difference, to get involved and try to bring some sensibility and traditional values back to what our children are learning for the next generation. I do feel parents’ frustrations and attempts at the schools' diminishing parental rights in child rearing and loss of guidance for their own children, and although I’ve seen some make the choice to leave the public school system, not all have the luxury or desire to do so and so I feel that there is only one way to implement change and that is from the inside.
Would like to change the role of how parents are notified and return in whole parental authority over their child within the public school structure. Specifically having more say over what is done with the child in regards to gender identity and curriculum taught within the educational system.
Also, very important to me is the need to prohibit the books that are considered to be sexually provocative, erotic, pornographic, or other indoctrinating agendas in literature and curriculum, including anti-semitic propaganda for children under the age of 18
